Edwin Echols
New World Music
Echols, who was born and raised in Chicago.  Music has
always been a part of his life since an early age.  Edwin is
a Gulf War veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force.  At

he placed 2nd in the regional Tops in Blue at Charleston
AFB in South Carolina.  This is a special unit made up of
talented performers selected for their entertainment

Edwin played in a variety band in Little Rock, Arkansas,
recording the likes of B.B. King, Earth, Wind and Fire,
The Judds and Kelly Ritchie.  In addition, he has played
in numerous local venues including the Vandenberg AFB
Gospel Choir and the Lompoc Flower Festival.

Wherever Edwin's travels have taken him, he has always
had his bass in hand, a listening ear and the love of
music that has kept him grounded.  Besides being funky
on his bass, he is also certified as both and auto
technician and water treatment supervisor.

Edwin is a well rounded bass player and can play many
genres of music.  His pops and growls bring a funk
element to Urban 805.

Musical influences:
Marcus Miller, The Brothers Johnson, Earth Wind and
Fire, Bob Marley, Steely Dan, Red Hot Chili Peppers and
Led Zeppelin.
